WAHS students in 'Scholastic Scrimmage'

Training News Article - Image Title FieldSeveral Weatherly Area High School students will compete in WVIA's "Scholastic Scrimmage" on the April 9 episode against Berwick High School at 7:30 p.m. "Scholastic Scrimmage" is a high school academic quiz show, produced in partnership with NEIU 19. Top students from WVIA's member school districts compete in a tournament-style competition, which covers all academic disciplines. At the end of this year's "Scholastic Scrimmage" season, the winning school is awarded $5,000, with second place receiving $3,000 and third place $1,000. The winning team also receives medals, a plaque for their high school's trophy case and bragging rights of being the very best. Four students from Weatherly Area will compete in the game. They are, from left: seated, Kenneth Hinkle, Joel Hinkle, Ashley James and their team captain, Alan Knepper. The team has two team alternates, Michayla McPeak and Rachael Caccese. The team's school adviser is Dr. Katie Leach. "Scholastic Scrimmage" airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. Episodes can also be watched on-demand at WVIA.org after the television premiere.
