Did you know that when a student enrolls in a cyber program, $15,175.73 of state and local tax money is taken from the local school district and given to the cyber school to cover the cost of the program for a student enrolled in regular education and $33,386.42 for a child enrolled in Special Education.  This is why cyber programs advertise them as being free to the parents.  These programs are not free and are taking your local tax money from our school.  Weatherly Area School District is now offering an alternative to parents who currently have their child enrolled in a cyber program that allows local tax money to stay with the local school where it belongs.  WAVE - Weatherly Area Virtual Education has close to 100 classes to choose from and over 20 Advanced Placement and honors courses all taught by PA certified teachers.  In addition to keeping the local tax dollars with the local school district, students who enroll in WAVE graduate from Weatherly and are able to participate in all district events without costs.  If you are a parent who has a child enrolled in a cyber program - please call Weatherly School District today to enroll your child in WAVE and help bring back the over $300,000 dollars of local tax money that we are currently losing to these other cyber programs.
